Era of Capitalist order ends: Iran
Era of Capitalist order ends: Iran
www.presstv.ir Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad says the era of a global capitalist order has terminated, insisting that the capitalist powers' logic is merely based on bullying, weapons and threats. "The implementation of justice will serve as the basis for establishing peace, tranquility, progress and brotherhood," said President Ahmadinejad in a joint press conference with his Venezuelan counterpart President Hugo Chavez in Caracas on Tuesday. "The future [world] order must be a clean order," he noted, adding that the next global order must guarantee the placement of pure souls at the peak of power. He also emphasized the importance of promoting freedom, justice and independence, arguing that "justice and freedom are intertwined." The Iranian chief executive added that Tehran and Caracas call for justice, freedom, progress and welfare for all nations. The Iranian and Venezuelan nations have always resisted against the extremism of arrogant powers, he emphasized. Whenever we speak about our country's progress and development, arrogant powers claim that we are making bombs, President Ahmadinejad stated. "Hegemonic powers view our progress as detrimental to their own interests. They seek to plunder our assets and impose their will on us," he pointed out, adding that, however, the nations of the world are vigilant and conscious and consider such attitudes as ludicrous. The Iranian president reiterated that the arrogant powers should recognize the fact that Iran and ...

24. Capitalist Enterprise and Clean Water for a Bolivian City
Capitalism: Success, Crisis and Reform (PLSC 270) In this final lecture of the semester, Professor Rae gives a summary of major themes, thinkers, and cases covered in the course. He begins by reviewing some foundational ideas, including Adam Smith's invisible hand, Marxist historicism, Malthusian economics, and Schumpeter's notion of creative destruction. Professor Rae also reviews the importance to capitalism of the modern nation state, which guarantees property rights and contracts, and recalls Hernando de Soto's theories about the importance of formal property rights for developing countries. Various forms of corporate structure and ownership are discussed. Professor Rae concludes by introducing a case about water privatization in Bolivia. 00:00 - Chapter 1. Anarcho-comunist vs. Anarcho-capitalist - What is anarchism? [Part one]
Anarcho-comunist vs. Anarcho-capitalist - What is anarchism? [Part one]
I have been called out for a debate by an anarcho-comunist who puts forth the challenge that if I favour capitalism, I have no right to call myself an anarchist. The same goes for "property rights" - that if I favour this, I fail once again in designating myself as an anarchist. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- en.wikipedia.org Anarcho-capitalism (also known as "libertarian anarchy,"[1] "market anarchism,"[2] "free market anarchism"[3] or "private-property anarchism"[4]) is a libertarian[5][6] and individualist anarchist[7] political philosophy that advocates the elimination of the state in favour of individual sovereignty in a free market. Economist Murray Rothbard is credited with coining the term.[8][9] In an anarcho-capitalist society, law enforcement, courts, and all other security services would be provided by voluntarily-funded competitors such as private defense agencies rather than through taxation, and money would be privately and competitively provided in an open market. According to anarcho-capitalists, personal and economic activities would be regulated by the natural laws of the market and through private law rather than through politics. Furthermore, victimless crimes and crimes against the state would not exist. Anarcho-capitalists argue for a society based on the voluntary trade of private property and services (including money, consumer goods, land, and capital goods) in order to ...
